General Summary:

As a member of the Grocery Central / West Category Management team, the Category Manager, Albertsons, Hy-Vee and Winco will be responsible for accelerating category growth and maximize the growth potential for Campbell’s through Category management best practices. The Category Manager, Albertsons, Hy-Vee/Winco will partner with key retailer decision makers aligning on priorities and insight needs to drive Campbell’s strategic partnership forward. This person will use point of-sale, loyalty and shopper data to create a clear direction for the category to align customer and Campbell’s strategies and tactics. This role will focus across the Campbell portfolio including Campbell Soup, Plum and Meals & Beverages.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Proactively develop collaborative relationships with our retail partners to be viewed as a trusted resource for category insights and objective growth opportunities
  • Provides strategic and tactical recommendations on the Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising and Pricing (DSMP) goals to improve overall category performance.
  • Responsible for developing customer specific presentation of relevant consumer insights, competitive responses, and new item/category selling strategies.
  • Actively participate in preparation and presentations of line reviews and reoccurring customer category reviews, JBP plans, and Top to Top meetings.
  • Lead comprehensive understanding of plan-o-gram insights and assortment to help identify and drive strategic sales opportunities.
  • Develops strong working relationships with category leadership, buyers and cross functional departments.
  • Serve as consultative and objective resource for Campbell’s and customer teams

    Job Complexity:

  • The Category Manager, Albertsons, Hy-Vee/Winco will work with customer buyers, insights teams, and sales teams. This role will require professionalism, executive presence, ability to balance customer/Campbells daily.
  • Works with cross-functional groups including the customer, customer team, and World HQ resources.

    Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 4+ years of experience in the CPG industry required
  • 2+ years in a Category Management role in the CPG industry
  • Nielsen/IRI syndicated data experience
  • POG software (JDA) understanding
  • Loyalty card experience

    Working Conditions:

  • This position works out of a home location
  • Collaborative relationships and team focus is vital to the success of this role
  • Approximately 40% travel is required to the customer & team meetings
  • This role reports to the Director of Grocery Central / West Category Management
